With a rapid development of industries like refined chemicals, intermediates used by pharmaceuticals, electronics, etc., hydrogen requirement is increased daily. The features of H2 requirement by these industries are normally for a small gas volume with high purity, especially for very low content of impurities. Based on client's special demand for hydrogen, our company has summarized the design and operation practices from the already completed dozens of small-scale hydrogen generation units and worked out the standardized design of small-scale compacted hydrogen generators from methanol reforming as well as manufactured small-scale compacted hydrogen generators from methanol reforming, which could be selected by clients.

Process flow brief description

 

Methanol and demineralized water from outside of the battery limit enter the unit passing through the feedstock mixture, the methanol reforming and the PSA in series, then the required hydrogen as product can be produced by clients. More specifically, in the feedstock mixture, methanol and demineralized water are mixed in a certain proportion into feed solution, which enters further into the methanol reforming for superheated evaporation. Under the action of the catalyst, catalytic reforming reactions take place to produce the reforming gas, which is fed into PSA to have the hydrogen purified. The purity of the purified hydrogen can be adjusted between 99%~99.9995%.
